So true for me!
I’ve got my to-do list in front of me and I’m going down ticking boxes like a woman on fire. And I need to be that. I’m here at home, taking care of a severely handicapped son, and have my two hands, my computer and my brain as my tools to use. That’s fine. I’m talented and have the energy and drive to do whatever it takes to succeed.
And I will.
One of the things that keeps me going when I’m down or when someone unexpectedly kicks me in the shins is that I’m working for my son. His future. His security. And making sure that he will be taken care of long after I’m dead and gone.
Our kids motivate us in so many ways and when we have a child who will need support and supervision for the remainder of his life that can throw our engines into high gear and get us moving even when we are (temporarily) down over other things.
Nothing will change this.
Nope. Not a damn thing! I’ve got my cause and that brass ring is right there for me to grab. It make take me a few times around the merry-go-round to get that ring, and God knows I’ll fall off a few times and get hurt in the process. But I’ll be back on that horse and the only thing that pain will do for me is teach me that I can do whatever it takes and that I’m a much stronger person than any naysayers ever thought.
Personal issues aside.
I have to push aside personal dreams that are not in keeping with my career goals. They don’t exist. Not to be negative in fact I’m being just the opposite. Except that I’m positive with a realistic tone.
Most people have to choose between love and money. Few if any of us really, truly, get both. That’s where romance writers and weavers of fairy tales come in. They allow us to believe that maybe we can have some ridiculous fantasy life but in truth we can’t. And that’s OK. We don’t need to have it. It’s not real and what’s not real isn’t worth our effort. Much less our tears.
Grateful to God and everyone.
I’ve received so MUCH support from fans on Facebook, Twitter, here on WordPress and also on YouTube. I’m flattered and honored by all of you and I want to say that I’ll always be in awe of those who can show so much love to a complete stranger and continue to cheer her on!
My goals now.
First, I’m filming four audition videos to submit next week. That’ll be fun.
Next, I’m working out my schedule to include more time for my Spanish language study, and my cello.
Third I’m allowing fun in my life. Not just work.
After that I’m taking time to go to church on Sunday.
Further down the list are things such as additional yoga time, taking up power walking, and getting back into dance lessons. I may do the dance via video as there are so many great ones out there and they do make it convenient.
As one final word here today I am telling everyone that I’m not considering myself to be limited by anything. I’ve got all the tools I need – and I thank God for them – and I’m working hard to hone my skills and take my ability up to whatever level it needs to be in order for me to have a successful career as an actress.
I hope all of you are doing well – and that what I’m doing inspires some of you to go after what you really want as well!
