Dreams Can Come True

Of course they can!

Of late I’ve been getting a lot of good castings and I’m very excited about them.  And for me, what this has done is confirm my belief that dreams can come true – even when you begin to lose hope.

You can apply this to pretty much any area of your life, business or personal.  It’s easy to get caught up in “no” and “can’t” , but sometimes, even when you start to think there’s no end to the tunnel you’re in, you see a ray of sunlight.  And that makes all the difference in life.

Celebrate right now.

Because just in case something wonderful happens, you should be prepared to be happy.  Not just celebrate for a day but keep it going.  Find your joy and hang on to it.

Auditions and such.

I like auditioning.  It’s the majority of what acting is about.  You spend lots of time trying out for roles and landing only a small percentage of them.  And that’s okay with me.  I enjoy the process very much.

One of the things I have learned is that an actor needs to bring something original to every audition.  Sure, it’s important to study the character and the storyline, as much as you are able to based on what you’re given, however you need to find a way to put your own stamp on it as well.  I know I surely do.

Make it your own.

The next thing after that is to own the part.  Live it.  No matter how large or small if you do it right it’s vital to the quality of the production.  Just like in a relationship, it’s the little things that matter most, so it goes with acting.  Even a bit of that something-something can make it stand head and shoulders above the rest.

Stay motivated.

Nothing comes without challenges.  Nothing good anyway.  So even if things look bleak and that there’s no way it can ever work out, you need to keep believing that dreams can come true and pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and take a leap of faith.

Thank you all for the beautiful outpouring of encouragement!
