Why I Should Be Hired As An Actress

What do I bring to the job?

Lots of great things.  I’m old enough to be sure of what I want to do, and young enough to fit a variety of different roles.

I can be the wife, girlfriend, mom, business executive, teacher, detective, doctor, lawyer, queen or politician.  I am a lover of style and can be glamorous if I want to be – so casting me as a fashion designer or owner of  chic restaurant or theatre would be right for me as well.  There’s more possibilities as well.

Why am I doing this now?

In a nutshell, because life got in the way before now.  I had school, then work, then marriage and children, and then autism, to fill my hours, so there simply wasn’t enough time in the day for pursing a new career or even recreational activities I enjoy.

Time does indeed change things in life, and it sometimes gives us another window of opportunity to go after our heart’s desire.  For me, it’s acting.  I think that sums it up as well as possible.

More about why I should be hired as an actress.,,..

I love the experience of it.  Sending out videos and going to live auditions – all of it.  It’s exciting and I am very eager to get more deeply into this career and hone my skills.

I’m a natural in front of a camera or a live audience, and I have been since I was a little girl and would read announcements in front of general assemblies in school with a cool head and a clear voice.  I never shake in my shoes about getting up in front of people – in fact, I like it.

What is unique about me as an actress can be divided into two areas:  my age and my attitude.  I love my age.  It’s great.  I love it when people tell me “you don’t look a day over 40”, but I don’t need to hear that.  I’m happy at 60 and that’s a fact.

A person can reach a point of (finally) doing what they always wanted to do, and stop apologizing to anyone for it.  That’s where I am.  Make no mistake though, I have a loving family and friends who are amazing, and, an online community that has been fantastic.  I’m very fortunate!

The other area I would like to talk about is my attitude.  I am coming in with a fresh approach, and loving every minute of what I’m doing.  The plus to not having decades of acting behind me is that I am not set in my ways and am eager to learn more.  I believe that production companies may find that to be a real asset.

How it’s all going.

Right now I put it on hold as far as auditioning is concerned.  But I’ll be getting back into the swing of making audition videos and going to live auditions before the end of 2017.

I plan to do a photo shoot in November, which is really right around the corner, and before that I’ll be adding videos here to WordPress, and to Facebook, and also to Vimeo.

And as of right now, I am going to be blogging daily or close to daily to keep everyone up to date with what I’m doing.  And sometimes just chatting.

Once again – THANK YOU! I’m going to do this —- no doubt in my mind!
