What I Like About Botox

Oooh.  Botox is a bad word to some!

But, ladies, it is not a bad word to me at all.  And, like the other injectables I use for my under eye area and cheek area, I have solid reasons for why I like Botox.  Read on.

Botox is good!

Yes, it surely is.  Not only does it do a good job on crows’ feet (other facial wrinkles too, I bet, but I do not use it for my myself), but, it has medical value as well.

One of the ways Botox is a good thing is that it is used to treat migraine headaches.  If you have ever had one you understand how awful they are. I have had them, but, luckily, over the counter remedies did help, and also luckily, I do not have a migraine very often.  (Thanks, God!)

There are also other ways that Botox is good, too!

I read about a dentist who used Botox to treat a problem called “nocturnal teeth-grinding”.  I have heard from friends and former co-workers that this can be a very painful problem.  Apparently, the Botox relaxes the muscles in the mouth/jaw area that are active while sleeping and cause the grinding that creates dental problems, and, causes pain in the face and jaw.

And, most recently, I read an article about actress Geri Jewell, who has cerebral palsy, and mentions in that article that she uses Botox to help control involuntary movement in her neck that causes pain.  She was in the HBO series “Deadwood” and will be in the upcoming move of the same title.  There’s a link to that article at the bottom of this page.

So….

You see, Botox is certainly not a bad thing.  Just the opposite  As far as I’m concerned, if Botox presented any dangers, doctors would not be very likely to inject patients with it to treat any of the problems I mentioned about.  The fact that it relaxes the muscles that cause wrinkles is just a nice bonus.
