What I Would Do To A Man Like Harvey Weinstein

Of course it all depends.

On the extent of the abuse.  If it’s verbal, as far as I’m concerned it’s just as bad, but, I don’t think it’s a chargeable crime.

And then there are the innuendos and little “things” that all of us women have shrugged off and kept going.

However, in the case of a monster who took advantage of my trust, and frankly, my admiration of his talent, I’d be damned if I’d put up with that idiot putting his hands on me and keeping them there.

Yes I want to succeed as an actress.

I surely do.  And still, I have to tell everyone who reads that I don’t want to be one that badly.  My desire for success will never be such that I’d turn the other cheek and hold back from screaming bloody murder if some ass had the audacity to try to physically molest me.  And, ladies and gentlemen, I am in good possession of what my family calls a “horror film scream”.  Trust me, they’d hear me in the next county.

With that said.

I won’t be walking into auditions or filmings with fear.  Not at all.  I don’t expect men to be jerks.  In fact, even though my experience to date is limited to a couple of productions, I was an extra in an HBO filming that had more than 400 cast and crew in attendance for more than 16 hours, and everyone, every single person there, was polite and fun to be around.  Fun.  No bullshit lines crossed.  No taking liberties.  Nothing.

The Harvey Weinstein story no doubt has every woman who is in or pursuing a career in acting and modeling a bit rattled.  Of course.

But if any of us take a step back from an audition or quit entirely because we’re frightened off – then the bad guy wins.  And I don’t want to see that happen.

Happily moving forward.

During the past few months, I’ve been doing some (very nice) cosmetic procedures to my face.  A needle here and there, and now I’m in the process of doing a VI Peel, as I write this in fact, and so it’ll be another week or 10 days before I’m ready to step in front of a camera again.  I’m happy about my results.  I look good if I do say so myself.  It’s still me – just fresher.  Which is just what I wanted.

Have a great Friday and a fantastic weekend!

That’s me.  Age 58.  NOT modestly dressed at all.  It’s every woman’s  right.
